We woke up to rain this morning: fortunately most brought rain gear or they adapted quickly:

We had a water fun day yesterday, thank goodness the weather stayed perfectly HOT and dry so EVERYONE was thrilled to get wet: the object here was to PULL your counselor UP the slip and slide needless to say there was WAY more "sliding DOWN" than there was "pulling up" going on . Water balloons and big wet sponges were involved in parts of this activity as well so everyone pretty much left drenched, just the way we like it! OH and the campers had a chance to "pay back" their counselors in a most rewarding way:

We had another campfire and then a movie to end the day..... I suspect most campers had no problem sleeping last night and that most counselors wished they could have stayed awake long enough to appreciate it!

On an aside, I'm going to try and make sure this doesn't post with a huge space at the end so I don't recieve an abundance of razzing by certain individuals (you know who you are).

I'll see if the internet will let me post another issue of "Intermediate 2 - Days of Our Lives" later tonight. Enjoy!

I miss you a lot!!! I made new friends. Their names are Austin, Devin, Jake, and Isaac. Camp Manatawny has awesome food. I have done 3 memory verses. Then I got seven pixie sticks. After that I made a duct tape wallet in crafts. Its teal and camo. I played Frisbee with friends.

So let's see, we left off with Sun. night...Mon. brought us another clear but very hot day. The kids all seem to be doing well, better than some of the staff actually! I got that pic of boys Cabin 8 per the request and here they are:

Not only did we get a pic of them, they are todays winners for cabin cleaning! That's right, you heard it here first.

A typical day here at camp begins with calisthenics, doesn't that look fun?

Another camp ritual is frequently heard in line for every meal, Slap Billy Ola:

The boys go all out at athletics, even on hot days. We keep jugs of water out for all our atheletes.

It's been an incredibly busy two days here at camp and we have the pics to prove it. Of course everything began Sat. with check in:

It wasn't long before the kids were up and running (straight to the pool that is):

After boys swim, there were some "getting to know you/team building" activities:

This was all about working together to keep the ball in the air and then they tied themselves into human knots then had to untangle themselves:

Sunday brought us another beautiful day filled with bible classes, worship, more swimming, archery, arts & crafts, special activities and we ended the day with an enthusiastic creek walk. The creek rang out with laughter, shouts, splashing and general fun to be had by all, it seemed:

God is Good !

We have been having a blast for the past couple of days and learning SO much. Our kids have been doing memory work, competing in athletics, enjoying their bible classes, meeting new friends, and singing their hearts out in praise to our awesome God !

We are learning that Jesus wants us to go the Opposite Way from the world and last night we learned how difficult that can be. We had a creek walk and went UP the Manatawny creek. Ask your kids how it feels to be the 1st Manatawny session (that we know of) to go UP the creek. They were awesome !

Your kids are all GREAT ! Thank you for bringing them here this week.

We had a great first day at camp! Already starting to forge new friends and catchup with old ones. It is amazing how close I feel to God when I'm here. The kids singing tonight really made that happen. They poured everything they had into their singing tonight. God is good All the time and All the time God is good!

Glorious Girls 2

This week has been absolutely amazing. God is good! Girl's 2 has a great group of girls this year. We have starring in our cabin, Amber, Brittany, Elizabeth, Sarah, Tiana and Lauren. They have all become close friends and inspiring to each other. They have tried new things, like riding horses and archery, sang their hearts out during beautiful times at praise time, star gazed under God's massive sky - at which time girls 2 spotted 6 shooting stars - It has truly been a God inspired week. Each one has grown in their own way but all have grown because of the one and only true God. The girls are so excited they have all memorized and recited at least 6 verses and some almost all 12! It is already Friday and we are all saddened at the thought of leaving this place tomorrow but are blessed because of the spirit of God that is in this place. Girls Cabin #2 is having a great time!

Boys 3 Update 2

As you've heard from other posts we are still having a great time. It's hard to believe that the week is almost over. Everyone has grown so much from the time they've been dropped off to now. Our cabin won the Tug of War the other day and (as you can see in the picture below) we served lunch to all of the campers. All of our boys have been trying to help each other and go out of their way to make sure everyone has a good time.

Today is our last full day to spend together and we will be finishing the week strong. From flag raising in the morning to camp fire songs and prayers in the evening, every second of this week has been amazing. Check back because I'm sure we will be posting more pictures as the day goes on. Thanks! <3

For the Challenge Course Activity we learned that we don't only need to believe in Jesus to get to heaven, but we also need to actively participate in helping each other in our walk with God.
Girls 3 & 4 and Boys 3 & 4 worked TOGETHER and accomplished getting into heaven.

The Shining Stars

So many of YOUR children are shining like stars at camp this week. We are honored to have them here at camp, thank you. So much is going on every day and all of our time is filled with activities.

Tonight we have had the brightest star this week when Alicia decided to be baptized. It was simple and yet poignant.

Girls Cabin 4!!

Girls Cabin 4 is having a great time so far! In our cabin we have Tatum, Jenna, Hannah, Lizzie, Macey and Alexia. Our cabin is all decked out with some fun decorations including Larry the Lobster and Parrot the...well...parrot, of course! (c: We've riden horses, went up to the low ropes course, and played kickball. The girls really have some fierce kickball skills! This afternoon we served lunch for the camp and wore some pretty gorgeous hairnets! Now we know what it's like for the cooks who work so hard to serve us each day! We also got a score of 100 on our clean cabin this morning.

Our cabin is growing closer and closer each day and we are growing closer to God, which is the most important thing. We are learning our memory verses and having some great devotionals at night. We're also up late into the night laughing and enjoying each other's company. The week is flying but we are so grateful to have such a great cabin of girls.

Camp Manatawny is awesome! I've been at camp for 8 years now and it is great! I love the horses. They're so pretty!! I love the river. It's so awesome! Camp Manatawny is such a great place to learn about God and He's awesome too!

Girls 1 & Boys 1 completed the Cable Walk and got to have FUZZY for the day. FUZZY was so dirty that Girls 1 graciously washed FUZZY which for some reason has caused FUZZY to become super sticky....we may have to roll him in dirt!

Today we found out that we all want to get to heaven - so we really need to listen and follow how God wants us to live. Jesus died for us, so why should we follow anyone else ?

We just want to thank you for entrusting us with your children. They are some amazingly beautiful children!

This is what it looks like when we have praise time and this is commonly known as upper Garrett.

Today during worship, when we were singing and let me tell you the singing is off the charts! Two young men who really don't know the worship songs and could not see the slides from heir seats got up and moved to the front and stayed there for all singing. I was proud of them.....and the others who followed.

Camp is great so far! In our cabin we have Tony, Robert, CJ, Tyler, Joaby and Karl. The rain was a little bit of a damper(!) so far but we are still enjoying ourselves! We are excelling in athletics and even won 2nd cleanest cabin award which gives us a chance to eat lunch before the other campers. x) We had the chance to safely fire rifles and play nukem volleyball. Last night one of the staff members, Tony, came into our cabin to tell us scary stories. I have never seen Intermediate 2 boys this scared since I started counseling lol! We are about to play waterballoon volleyball next so I gotta go but I will update again when I can!

The rain seems to be over, but on Monday we crank up the heat! Headed for a heat index today that may match our number of campers--106!! We'll be working to keep everyone hydrated today--lots of water available and lots of reminders to all the campers to KEEP DRINKING...

God is moving here. Campers are changing. Hearts are opening. And it's only MONDAY!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Just when it looked like the rain might go away, it came back! After a rainy morning, the skies cleared up long enough for the campers to go to their special activities. Unfortunately, during lunch, the rain returned and with it came the thunder and lightning. Thankfully, it was a short-lived thunderstorm and the girls will get to swim soon!

The campfire last night was amazing, complete with a devotional with nursery rhymes. Ask your camper who Humpty Dumpty should have asked to help put him back together! Thanks Tate, for the devotional!

Hopefully, the clouds will move out in time for stargazing tonight! The boys are at athletics and will be on their way to canteen soon! Time to get the canteen cards out! Unfortunately, the Slush Puppie Machine isn't working. Maybe tomorrow!

We awoke to a downpour this AM! We were blessed with a bit more sleep time since our time with Mr. Excercise and flag raising were cancelled due to the rain.

Yesterday we had a blast with most kids saying campfire was their favorite part of Sat.

It's 2:00 AM and we will be leaving for camp @ about 8:30. The kitty litter is emptied and the lawn is mowed. I am kinda sorta packed...finally. I just scrolled through the past few years of posts from the camp week known as Intermediate II. It has been a beautiful ride these past few years and it's about to commence again.

God is always doing amazing things and this week's session will prove no different.

Kids saw God this week - many for the first time. We know that when people see God - that lives will be changed - FOREVER ! It was an awesome week and just being part of the Int2 family is an honor that is Indescribable ! Why - because God is the head of our family and HE IS INDESCRIBABLE !

Well, God continues to bless us here at Manatawny! The weather has been beautiful all day long! We had a 30 minute shower/thunderstorm while the kids were at Special Awards and Bible Gameshow. At the end of the storm, God blessed us with a HUGE rainbow, with a second one partially visible above it. Our God is an amazing and powerful God!

It is hard to believe that our week is almost over. For me, working in the canteen, I always know when the end is near when kids' canteen cards start to fill up. That brings the sad realization that the week is almost over. Hopefully, we have been able to make a difference in just one camper's life and hopefully we have shown just one camper what it means to be part of an 'Indescribable' family! What a great group of campers we have had this week!

Alright, here's our first group picture! Yesterday afternoon we did the Challenge 1, formerly known as the Low Ropes 1. It's a pretty good team-building obstacle course experience. We tried to keep a giant see-saw level and sing a song and we climbed Heaven's Gate. Here is Boys 3 right before climbing the giant wall.

Hey this is Aryn, the counselor from girls cabin 3. Kristin, Anya, Stephie and Sarah are in my cabin and we have been having a blast. Everyone but Kristin has NEVER been to a camp week before, so this is a great expericnce for them, and I know they're all enjoying it so much! I can't believe it's Monday already! This morning we had our seventh and final camper show up so we now have a full cabin!

Justin, Lorin, James H, James W, Jason, John and CJ are all having a great time so far. All of their Bible teachers have complimented them and they are doing great in the team activities. I will try and get some pictures posted tomorrow!

Okay so our clothesline is the one with the Eagles towel (Kyle's) on it and yes, the boys put the Eagles front and center, but as you can see by Cabin 4's clothesline...we need a lot of work!

All in all we are having a great time! Last nite they zonked out like you would not believe---after having a wonderful swim time (kill the man w/the ball) and a great campfire etc, etc, etc....

Sunday is off to a great start---wonderful worship and activities.

So---Kyle is doing great and doing a great job studying during bible class

Mitchell is having a fun time although he did forget his deodorant---no worries we got him some!

Conner is doing very good and is enjoying all the activities

Alex is having a great week as he has aspirations to one day be a counselor

Jacob is really, really enjoying himself

Andre is enjoying everything

Scotty is doing a lot of partcipating which makes for a great time!

They are eating well, showering and deodorizing everyday

Hope you guys miss them for they are surely a great bunch of men!!!

Hey folks, Intermediate 2 starts in just a few hours. Wanted to let you know that it's our intention to keep this blog constantly updated with info from the week. But we also needed to let you know that Camp experienced a lightning strike this week that knocked out the Internet server. As of this morning, this had not been repaired. So we'll do our best, and we hope you'll see lots of interesting stuff on this site starting in just a few hours. But if updates are coming slowly, it's because we're scrambling for Web access. Thanks for your understanding...

Please pray for our week! We have 74 incredible kids and 65 amazing staff coming, and we can't wait to see God in action...

Hey Int2 Family ! Just wanted to let you know about the big day of one of our own. Robbie and Katie Warrell were united in marriage at 1pm on Saturday, December 8, 2007 with Jeff presiding over the ceremonies.

Katie was a beautiful bride and Robbie was decked out in his tux. We almost didn't recognize Robbie with a coat and tie - but what really thru us all for a loop was seeing him with his shirt tucked in !

It was a great day for sure !

Hey everyone - Intermediate 2 was truly a Shining Star for our God this year. The campers and staff allowed Christ's love to shine thru everything they did.

The Lord's body grew this week - in numbers (17 new souls !!!!!) and in spirit. Christ touched each person's heart this week and brought growth. What an amazing thing it is to see 150 souls Shining like the Bright Morning Star !

All I asked for in the beginning of the week was for the girls to give it their all in athletics. They have been amazing and I am proud to say that each and every girl participated in each and every activity. They have persevered and worked as a team to shine God's light even on the athletic field. When you see them around be sure to ask them to do their cabin cheer! We have found some time to post a new blog...only because I found my dad's laptop and took it from him. We are sitting in the dining hall waiting for LUNCH. Hi to all of you out there in the world. I am coming directly to you from the Dining Hall @ Camp Manatawny where it is as close to the real world as you can get!

People are coming to know Jesus and they are committing their lives to Him this week.

We are at 7 baptisms and we will have some today and tomorrow as family and friends come to camp to welcome new brothers and sisters into Christ.

We have searched the world for truth and have come to rest our search on God's living word....the bible.

It's Aryn from girls cabin 3. It's been difficult to find time to write because we are so busy having a GREAT time! Tonight is talent show night and Hollye came up with an awesome idea. It's going to be a surprise...especially for my dad. Our cabin has been really great. We are bonding so much and learning a lot about eachother, and most importantly, God. Well, I can't write any more because the girls are waiting for me to go swimming with them! Hopefully we'll find some more time to write!

Hey family and friends! This is Ashley and Karen, the counselors of girls cabin 2 just giving you an update on how the week is going. We were blessed with 5 great grils in our cabin this year and we are all having such a wonderful week! Tonight is the talent show and the girls are all really excited about it. We are doing a skit that should be extremely funny, and we are sure you will hear all about it when the girls get home. This is a picture of all the girls at archery yesterday (Wednesday). They all did a great job!

This afternoon we had a great time of water fun! Wonder Water Bucket is an all-time favorite! By the end of the bucket fun, almost every camper was soaking wet. If any of the campers were left dry, it wasn't for long. Soon the water balloon battle began and then EVERYONE was wet, including our beloved directors. It was a great day for water fun, for it was 105 degrees in the shade. Now time for praise. Peace out.

You can look at the week as being half way finished or half way to go. Honestly I'm looking at it both ways. It is incredibly hot and we all are exhausted. If we put the physical fatigue aside and focus on the important things we don't want camp to end yet. This is the best week I've staffed to date and I'm loving every minute of it. In the next post I'll try and get some pictures of the kids in here so you can see how they're doing. Today should be filled with water games and it'll be a good way to stay cool in this heat! x)

Hi Everyone!
The Girls this week have been amazing. Last night we had a devo with another cabin and the girls really seemed to open up. It was a great chance for the girls to relate to one another and to get closer. I really think they took advantage of it. I am so glad that God blessed me with these girls this week Nicole, Carlay, Jenn, Julia, and of course my other counselor Monet. Even though it is very hot and humid everyone has a good attitude and putting forth their best effort. Thank you parents for giving your child the chance to come to Camp Manatawny. It really is a little piece of heaven on earth:)

It was an incredible day as is everyday that you "live" @ Camp Manatawny.

Well this is my second week ever of camp and so fa i still lovve it!!!!!!!
I have an amazing cabin, Girls 6. My ccouslers Sierra and Stpeh are the best. Well beyond the best. I love Sierra with my life and no matter what she is forever my big sister. Steph is my very best friend and i care so much about her. and i love my cabin mates too. Erin is sweet and funny. Ashley is quiet and nice. and Bronnia is very nice and funny. Eeverything is great. Best cabin, best food *ever* and THE BEST CAMP IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE UNIVERSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Devos! WOW! (Girls 6)

Last night, our cabin had a phonominal devotional!!! Greatly, to our surprise ALL of our girls opened up, each including thier own personal commnents and stories. We laughed- we cryed- and we were am amazed that all of us were in the same boat... and all of the girs were... in my opinion they were extremly brave to open up the way that they did. They told us about their spiritual strugles in their every day lives... in turn we told them our struggles and personal stories, then together came up with christ like ways of over coming them.

Girls' cabin 4!

Hey everybody! Girls cabin 4 is having an amazing week so far! In our cabin is Maggie Greenleaf, Alexis Dubois, Rebecca Lindner, Cathy Bruno and Sara Stolzfus. We started out the week by winning the Bible scavenger hunt along with Boys 4. Our task was to look up passages in the Bible and find different objects around camp. We sure were quick! And the wins keep on rollin' from there! We also won Bible game show that night and the counselor fashion show. The girls dressed us up like Christmas trees! They painted our arms and faces green and our legs brown and then wrapped us in garland and blinking Christmas lights. The icing on the cake was the snow which consisted of shaving cream and hair mousse. Sarah and Deb were extremely thankful the paint came off although their arms still have a slight green tint. We also had the cleanest cabin this morning along with Girls 7! Yesterday up at the ropes course the girls figured out how to cross the alligator pit with Boys 2 while helping along 2 mute counselors and 1 blind counselor in 5 minutes. That must be some kind of camp record! Overall we're having a great week! We've enjoyed praising God together and we're growing closer to each other every day. And the week is only starting! I know the Lord has so much more planned for us this week and that it'll be great! We'll update again soon!

Hey everyone! Last night boys cabin 6 (The Breakfast Club) went out to the campfire area and had a camp out. It was truely amazing!! When we got there everyone was hesitant about doing it except the counselors. Brandon (Home-Fry) especially didnt want to do it. He sprayed everything with bugspray, including his mattress and all of us! We took about a half hour gathering wood for the fire so it would last into the night. The boys acted like such a team and worked together so well. After getting set up we relaxed, ate some food got some water and had a devo. The guys were so eager to learn! And out of this campout I think we might have a few new souls added to the kingdom. After a while we went on a monstrous pranking trip- but thats a story for another day...
All in all, we had an awsome time enjoying what got created and grew much closer as friends and brothers in christ!!!

Camp is always an exciting time for everyone! It is a place of worship, friendships, self-discovery, and much more. Although this is my firt year of counseling, girls cabin 1 is all I could ask for. Today's world is filled with so many obstacles, and yet these girls seem to know where they are going. Nicole, Carlay, Julia, and Jenn have been busy with memory work, bible classes, and special activities. Yesterday, our cabin participated in the ropes course for special activities, and it will be by far my favorite memory of this week. During the activity, the girls were fearless as they swung like Tarzan over "Satan's lair," were tossed over an 8ft. wall to reach Heaven, and encouraged their friends to persevere through all of the obstacles. This week is such a blessing, and Rachael and I are so happy to be apart of it! Please keep praying for the week, as well as all who are involved!
